You’re not a failure, it’s part of the process.

There’s something about looking at our walk with Christ the way we look at a newborn baby learning how to grow. ❤️

I’m reading this book right now, and it has completely opened my eyes to see something differently: we are children.

And what do I mean by that?

Think about a newborn baby. As they grow, they go through different stages of development. In every stage, they’re learning something new. They’re learning how to sit, crawl, stand, walk, talk, and eventually become more independent.

They don’t master everything overnight.

And neither do we.

When we are born again, we become new creations in Christ. But that doesn’t mean we suddenly know how to walk perfectly in everything God has called us to. We are learning. We are growing. We are unlearning. We are being transformed.

Every season we enter has a purpose, and there is a process happening within that season.

And honestly, this changed the way I look at myself.

God doesn’t look at us as failures when we are learning and growing.

Think about the way we encourage a baby learning to walk. When they stand up and fall, we don’t look at them and say, “You failed.”

We cheer them on.

“Come on! Get back up!”

We celebrate the little steps.

We encourage them to try again.

How much more does our Heavenly Father love us and patiently walk with us as we learn to walk with Him?

That doesn’t mean God excuses sin or tells us to stay the same. His grace doesn’t give us permission to remain in our old ways. His grace gives us the strength and opportunity to keep getting back up, repent, learn, grow, and become more like Christ.

And then I started looking at my brothers and sisters in Christ differently too.

We are ALL learning.

We are ALL growing.

We are ALL trying.

We are ALL walking through a process.

Many of us came out of a sinful world carrying habits, mindsets, wounds, behaviors, and ways of thinking that we learned before we ever knew Jesus.

So why do we expect everyone to have it all together immediately?

Sometimes we can become so narrow-minded that we forget we are all still children learning how to walk with our Father.

I know there are things I struggle with that I desperately want God to remove from me. If I’m being honest, sometimes I want Him to remove them ASAP. 😂

But God has been showing me that some things are a process.

And maybe the process isn’t punishment.

Maybe the process is where He is teaching me.

Maybe the process is where endurance is being developed.

Maybe the process is where my character is being formed.

Maybe the process is where I’m learning to depend on Him instead of myself.

And seeing it this way has given me a completely different perspective—not only toward myself, but toward others.

So today, I pray that whoever reads this can see the beauty of God’s love and grace over their own life AND over the lives of His children.

Father, give us hearts of repentance and hearts of love.

Teach us how to forgive.

Teach us how to extend grace.

Help us see our brothers and sisters through Your eyes and not our own.

Lord, remove every plank from our own eyes before we try to point out the planks in someone else’s.

Help us walk in complete unity as the body of Christ.

Help us be loving, caring, understanding, patient, and kind.

And thank You, Father, for loving me even in my mess.

Thank You for not giving up on me when I fall.

Thank You for helping me get back up.

Thank You for being patient with me while I learn how to walk.

I’m still growing.
I’m still learning.
I’m still being transformed.
And I’m so thankful my Father is walking with me through every step. ❤️
